On Friday 23rd August 2019, we officially opened our newly renovated buffet breakfast restaurant “FALA”. FALA means pineapple and was chosen as a nod to the pineapple field situated at the front of the hotel, from which pineapples are used in the hotels kitchen.
The staff and management gathered together for the opening of the new restaurant. A blessing was conducted by Mr Afoa Uelse, and then the honor for cutting the ribbon was given to Mr Amitesh Prasad, the Hotel Engineer, and his team. It was then followed by an ava ceremony.
This renovation was completed solely by the the hotel staff Maintenance department, and the ideas behind the designs were primarily from hotel employees.
It was a double celebration as the hotel held their quarterly staff awards after the opening ceremony. This is held every three months of the year. Mr YP Reddy, the director for Tanoa Hotel Group, has a strong belief in 'his people' and how important it is to take care of his employees. His concept is 'taking care of employees will ensure the business will prosper'. Its the Tanoa Way. The recipients were:
